Matt 26:47-56; Mark 14:43-52; Luke 22:47-53; John 18:2-12
Was Judas needed to bring the soldiers and religious leaders to arrest Jesus? If so, is he needed for the death of Jesus that finished the works of salvation? According to the book of John, Jesus turned Himself in to let the soldiers arrest Him. Judas was not needed. Salvation doesn’t need Judas.
However, why would Matthew, Mark and Luke all mentioned Judas playing a role in the arrest of Jesus? Because he did inject himself into it with a bad intention.
How about Peter? What would he achieve by showing his little knife? Jesus could have sent 12 legions of angels. Peter’s works is nothing, and may have hindered the salvation works of Jesus.
Both Judas and Peter’s participation is not needed. One is with a bad intention and the other one is with a good intention. God stopped the one with a good intention, but proceed to use the one with a bad intention for His purpose.
A lot of things we do are useless in the scheme or plan of the Kingdom. God may even stop some. But we still want to have the good intention and do all that we can, for His kingdom.
